Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment where possible to reduce bruising.
Avoid strenuous exercise immediately before your appointment.
Arrive with clean skin and minimal makeup where possible.
Do not stop prescribed medication unless advised by your healthcare professional.
Tell us about all medications, supplements, allergies and medical conditions.
Let us know if you are unwell, have an active infection or skin irritation, or have recently had dental work or other facial treatments.
Plan treatment at least 2 weeks before an important event, allowing time for swelling or bruising to settle.
A full consultation will be completed before treatment to ensure dermal filler is safe and suitable for you.
Aftercare
Dermal Filler Aftercare
Avoid touching, rubbing or applying pressure to the treated area for 24 hours.
Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, saunas, steam rooms and excessive heat for 24–48 hours.
Avoid makeup for several hours where possible.
Mild swelling, tenderness, redness and bruising are common and should gradually settle.
Avoid facial treatments or massage around the area for 2 weeks, unless advised otherwise.
Follow any specific aftercare instructions provided by your practitioner.
Contact the clinic promptly if you experience increasing or severe pain, unusual skin colour changes, significant swelling or any concerns.
Seek urgent medical attention for any changes to your vision or other severe/unexpected symptoms.
When This Treatment Isn't Suitable
Dermal filler may not be suitable if you:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Have an active infection, inflammation or broken skin in the treatment area.
Are currently unwell or have a significant active infection.
Have certain allergies, medical conditions or previous reactions to dermal fillers.
Are taking medications that may affect treatment suitability.
Have recently undergone certain dental or facial procedures.

It is usually a mix of volume loss, the structure of your face and skin quality — which is why we assess all three at your consultation rather than treating the shadow alone.
Is tear trough treatment safe?
It is a technically demanding area, which is exactly why it should only be carried out by an experienced practitioner after a full assessment. We treat conservatively and will decline if we do not think it is right for you.
Will it get rid of my dark circles completely?
Not always. Some shadowing comes from pigmentation or skin thickness rather than hollowing, and that responds to different treatments. We will be straightforward with you about what is realistic.
Might you recommend something else instead?
